Easter Rabbit 1: Every country has its traditions. They play a very important role in the life of the people. One such tradition is Easter.

Easter Rabbit 2: Easter is the festival that occurs on the first Sunday after the first full moon in spring. Easter marks the end of winter and beginning of spring.

Easter Rabbit 3: People buy new clothes to wear on Easter Sunday. There is a popular belief that wearing three new things at Easter will bring good luck in the year.

Easter Rabbit 4: After church services many people like to take walks down the streets in their new Easter hats and suits. This colorful procession of people dressed in bright new spring clothes is called the Easter Parade.

Easter Rabbit 1: Do you know Easter symbol? They are: the Cross, the Egg, the Rabbit, the Easter-egg tree. The Cross. It has a special meaning to Christians. It represents Christ’s victory over death. It is a significant Easter symbol.

Easter Rabbit 2: Eggs. Long ago some people believed that the earth appeared from gigantic egg! On Easter Sunday families and friends exchange chocolate eggs. This custom dates back to ancient times when Egyptians and Persian used to paint eggs in bright colors to represent the sunlight of spring and give them to friends as a symbol of new life.

Easter Rabbit 3: In some countries of Europe, decorating eggs has been a great art for many years. In Poland and Yugoslavia girls and women paint fancy designs on eggs before they are dyed. They paint the designs with beeswax. And try to make each one a little different. Flowers stand for love, a deer for good health, the sun for good luck, a rooster for wishes that will come true.

Easter Rabbit 4: Many of the Easter eggs have crosses on them and other symbols. They carry words or letters that mean CHRIST IS RISEN. This is common greeting on Easter Day. People keep these beautiful gift eggs for years and years, and display them at Easter time.

Easter Rabbit 2: All around the world, many children believe that the Easter rabbit brings eggs and hides them for children on Easter morning.

Easter Rabbit 3: Easter-egg tree. The Germans were the first to make an Easter-egg tree. First, they carefully pricked a hole at the end of the shell and blew out the inside of the egg. Then they colored and decorated the shells and hung them on the tree outdoors. German settlers in Pennsylvania brought the custom of the Easter-egg tree to America.

Easter Rabbit 4: Hot Cross Buns. One of the oldest Good Friday customs is eating hot cross buns. These small sweet buns, marked with a cross of white icing, may have originated in pre-Christian times. Early Egyptians, Greeks and Romans marked their loaves of bread with symbols to honor their gods and goddesses. Another belief was that eating hot cross buns on Good Friday, it’s the day before Easter Sunday, served to protect the home from fire.

Easter Rabbit 1: Eggs play an important part in Easter sports. Two traditional Easter egg games are the Easter Egg Roll and the Easter Egg Hunt. The rules of an Easter Egg Roll are to see who can roll a hard-boiled egg the greatest distance or can make the roll without breaking it, usually down a grassy hillside or slope.

Easter Rabbit 2: Perhaps the most famous egg rolling takes place on the White House Lawn in Washington. Hundreds of children come with baskets filled with bright decorated eggs and roll them down hopping the president of the United States is watching the fun.

Easter Rabbit 3: The custom of an Easter Egg Hunt began because children believed that rabbit brings eggs and hides them for children. He is very shy. He comes at night, and no one ever sees him.

Easter Rabbit 4: Today on Easter Sunday, children wake up to find that the Easter Bunny has left them baskets of sweets. He has hidden the eggs that they decorated earlier that week. Children hunt for the eggs all around the house and the child who finds the most eggs wins a prize.

Easy Easter Games

Hatch an egg

Fill several plastic eggs with a word that is a part of a sentence. The first player "hatches” an egg, reads the word and writes it on the blackboard. The next player chooses an egg and writes the word in somewhere before or after the word already on the blackboard. When all the eggs have been hatched, the team that has arranged the words in a logical sentence scores a point.

Golden Egg Hunt

One team hides 10 plastic (or paper) eggs. One of the eggs is painted gold. A second team has seconds to hunt for the eggs. A point is scored for every egg found in the 30-second time limit. Three additional points are scored for the golden egg.

Hatch Match

Cut 10 egg shapes from different patterns of wallpaper. Draw a zigzag line across each egg and cut along the lines.
To play, scramble the pieces and match the halves.

Basket Pass

Here’s an indoor relay game. Teams are seated in a row. The first player on the team has a basket. Everyone needs pencil and paper.
Immediately after the question is asked, players write their responses. The first player puts his answer in the basket and passes it to the next player, who does the same.
Teams score a point for every correct response. The team to finish first scores an additional two points.

Hop Like a Bunny

One child is a caller. The remaining players are behind a line. The caller calls out an animal walk:

As each new animal is called, the players simulate the moments. The object is to be the first to get from the starting line to a finish point. Or play the game noncompetitively and simply simulate the movements with each call.
